Sheryl is the mother of three adult children Shay Menendez Brooks,Wade Howard Menendez, & Christofer Ryan Menendez. An amazing son-in love Jonas Brooks & 3 grand Children Amira, Adam, & Layla.The sudden & devastating & transitioning of her husband Pastor Frank H. Menendez eight years ago as she was planning her own transition from aggressive invasive breast cancer left her with the major assignment as Senior Pastor of Light of the World Family Ministries now located in Glen Burnie Maryland.
Pastor Sheryl is committed to the work of the Ministry for all souls with her entire heart. She is honored to serve in the most amazing Ministry she knows, her Light of the World Family Ministries Team who understands the work & call of the Ministry. Pastor Sheryl and Light of the World Family Ministries are honored to be a part of The United Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic under the Leadership of Presiding Bishop Dr. Monroe Saunders.Jr.
Her love for Souls, Outreach and Evangelism which include housing the homeless for 2 years in our church building. Also serving in our community on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays providing food to those in need, has led her across the country & beyond. Light of the World family Ministries host online call-in prayer every Tuesday & Thursday Night. LOTWFM can also be found every Sunday Morning on Facebook Live.
Seeing a need for The Ministry to reach beyond the four walls and into Communities, Schools, Families, Mental Health, & those Economically disenfranchised Pastor Sheryl started Restoration Community Development Corporation, a 501 c3 in the State of Maryland. This organization, along with Light of the World Family Ministries, has been recognized throughout Anne Arundel County & State of Maryland.
As Executive Director of Restoration Community Development Corporation (RCDC) for over 30 years, her work & Ministry, in the State with her team & staff has brought continued partnerships with Anne Arundel County Public Schools (MOU) for over 25 years, operating mentoring programs on school campuses. Additional partnerships with Anne Arundel County Department of Health, AA County Department of Mental Health, served as Board of Directors member of Mental Health for 10 years, after my Behavioral Health internship. Other partnerships include, AIDS HIV Commission, Infant Mortality, former State Minority & Outreach Assistance organization (MOTA) for Anne Arundel County, AA County Partnership for Children Youth, and Families currently for over 18 years. She is a Certified State, ACE’s Trainer (Adverse Childhood Experiences) & National Strengthening Families Instructor.
Pastor Sheryl also provides Marriage & Family Training for couples. Pastor Sheryl and RCDC has also been in a 10 year partnership with the City of Annapolis Mayor's Office.
RCDC also houses Maryland and Anne Arundel County Food Bank Pantries sites, serving thousands of family members monthly throughout the county. RCDC houses a Baby Pantry for Parents weekly and opening a new location in Laurel, Maryland. RCDC received granting opportunities to open the Only 2 Adolescent Recovery Clubhouses in Anne Arundel County, H20 4 LIFE for ages 12-17.
Pastor Menendez, RCDC Organization won in 2021 Anne Arundel County The 21st Century Education award for Community Partnership & Distinguished Graduate Award Anne Arundel County Leadership Anne Arundel. Pastor Sheryl was honored in February 2022, to open Maryland State Senate in Prayer.
